What is "God's work. Our Hands"?
On a dedicated day of service, thousands of ELCA churches celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America—one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
2020 God’s Work Our Hands Project
The Inreach/Outreach Committee has decided to do a food drive for Saint Paul Lutheran Church ELCA in Lake Charles, LA in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. Through communication with our synodical disaster team and Saint Paul in Lake Charles, it has been determined that the best way for us to help is to provide sandwiches for the church and their community.
We will be driving the food and making the sandwiches at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bridge City, Texas. This church is a staging ground for getting the food across to Louisiana.
