St. Paul’s Clown Ministry was formed in 2001 as a part of the Inreach/Outreach
Committee. The group consists of over 10 gospel clowns each with their
unique style and personality. Using the parables as the basis of their
skits, they have performed for Sunday school rallies, Openings, Easter Egg
Hunts, kid fests, elementary school programs, senior citizen events and have
ministered to the congregation during several Sunday worship services. Clowning
is an important form of ministry of Jesus Christ. In Clown Ministry, the
chief task is to be childlike, to give of oneself, elevate other persons to
positions of worth and communicate clearly that they are loved. We are
called to be “fools for Christ’s sake,” to be weak so that others can be
strong. Isn’t it wonderful to know that the God of grace can work
through our imperfections and goofs, and let something wonderful happen?
